Sayed Sarwer Hussain, during his 34 years of career as an Economist and Agricultural Policy Analyst, served the US Government for more than a decade at its Embassy in Dhaka. He also worked as an agriculture expert at the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Bangladesh. Sayed has also vast experience working as an agricultural researcher with a few development partners such as Euroconsult, FAO, USAID, EEC, Danida, GTZ, and ODA.
He is well conversant with the government policies and regulations administering the agriculture sector including seed industry, biotechnology, food safety, and SPS (Sanitary and Phyto-sanitary, related to plant quarantine regulations) etc. He has vast experience in the domestic industries and international trades. He has developed a wide range of working experience and strong linkage with government ministries and private sector stakeholders in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, environment and food sectors.
Sayed holds an MS in Agricultural Economics. He also obtained MS in Seed Technology from the University of Edinburgh, UK.
